Hoobstank? This is seriously despicable of you to do

My once FAVORITE band in the whole wide world just gave me a seriously blow to their credibility as an upstanding band and ruined ALL appeal they ever had. Check out http://www.mrdestructo.com/2009/06/whats-that-smell-i-think-its-goatse-and.html. Hoobastank thinks the PROTESTS IN IRAN for DEMOCRACY are a laughing matter and are actually sending those people to terrible pictures instead of trying to help them out? This is crap and I hope you guys stop it immediately and ISSUE AN APOLOGY. Sign this informal petition for a HOOBSTANK APOLOGY by replying below.

Saw this on digg and I'm seriously freaking out about this. I can't believe Hoobastank would take advantage of a situation like this just to garner some publicity. MAKES ME PUKE! In line with the green revolution we need a HOOBALUTION. Delete all your mp3s. Throw your Hooba shirts, cds and posters in the trash. Boycott and picket their concerts These clowns have truly hit rock bottom and I wish I had never given them a dime of my money. :(

Did any of you stop and think to check http://twitter.com/hoobastank to see if that was the band instead? I may be wrong but it seems like horrible publicity and a bad part on their side if the band did anything like this. Please tell me you're not all that easily fooled.

It's obvious that the @hoobastank_band account was created by someone who wants to fool people (like yourselves) and the perfect vehicle to do so is by using the #iranelection and #tehran hashtags on Twitter. FYI, there are also spam accounts that are misusing the same hashtags in order for their advertisements to be seen by multiple users at once.

Honestly, I don't know how some people can call themselves a 'fan' of a band when they're quick to turn around and point the finger for a prank that was obviously pulled by anyone BUT Hoobastank themselves.

Clues:
1.) @hoobastank_band has very few followers and not a lot of updates
2.) The majority of the tweets from @hoobastank_band are completely irrelevant to everything and a lot of them are just plain weird.
3.) This account posts absolutely nothing about upcoming album releases, music videos, tour dates, etc.
4.) The @Hoobastank account (the proposed and obviously legit one) posts tour dates and other information relevant to the band.
5.) Their record label would drop them in a heartbeat if they posted such crap. Come on.

Do the right thing and stop spreading false accusations. Do some research before passing along what some idiot posted to gain traffic to his blog.

Go to www.twitter.com/spam and submit a direct message to them with the hoobastank_band member name stating that it is indeed spam.

Hey.. REAL Hoob fans (you know who you are) just calm down and ignore these assholes. Don't let them get to you. It's not worth it. We know they are a bunch of bullshit and so does Hoob so who care if these fakes fans "aren't" fans anymore. They were never fans to begin with so it is not a loss. I don't it is annoying that they spammed our boards but we've dealt with spam for YEARS. I've been on the Hoob boards since 2002... do you know whow much spam I have dealt with? Just ignore them. :)

The fake was obviously a fake, like said if ANYBODY was a real fand and knew anything about the band, they would know they'd never do something like that. Secondly, it was posted on here by Doug himself that he and the band are the only two legit accounts. If ANYBODY else made an account we would know on here AND HoobaDoug or the Hoobastank page would probably post about it. Anybody who believed the fake one is NO real Hoobastank fan and if you want to believe it go ahead, more room for us.

that anyone who is a "fan" and has been on these boards even in the last few months should recognize some of the people that are regulars....also watch the video chats! Hoob has only ever promoted the @Hoobastank twitter! Also @Hoobastank and @HoobaDoug are similar postings usually AND are even linked to the official site. AND COME ON, how many times has @HoobaDoug posted a pic to his.
