Q: Why the change from the ska/rock format?
Posted by: Guitarmy32 Feb 25, 2009
A: the ska was 15 years ago.  If I may ask a question:  How much have YOU changed in the last 1 years?  That's pretty much it.  Musical preferences among many other things change with the years.  Pretty much a natural progression for us, nothing intentional.

Hooba-ska?...*psssh*...I thinketh notly

Since when was Hoobastank ever ska? Just because a guitarist used a tremelo, chorus and echo pedal doesnt make the band ska. Nirvana used these same guitar effects, but they are far from ska. My take on Hooba (this can be argued) was that they are a modern day, alternative take on 80's arena hard rock. If you want to hear great ska listen to Sublime, Streetlight Manefesto, Goldfinger, Mighty Mighty Bostones, Madcap, Less than Jake, Reel Big Fish or Forces of Evil. If you want to hear a new take on rock music, listen to Hoobastank.
